Collection and privacy

Does the collector sit on my critical request path? No. It is observe-only and fail-open: your handler's result or error stays authoritative, observation happens after the operation, and if Seamward is unreachable your application never waits and never sees an error.

Does Seamward store my request payloads? No. The envelope schema has no field for payload bodies or headers; the collector ships structural shapes (field names and types), fingerprints, and keyed hashes of identifiers. Every envelope records storage: "none". Redaction shows exactly what an envelope contains.

What happens when Seamward is down? Evidence queues in bounded memory (1,000 observations by default), retries on every flush, and drops oldest-first if the outage outlasts the queue. Your application is unaffected throughout; stats() counters record what happened.

Repairs and control

Does Seamward change my code automatically? No, and it cannot. AI proposes a bounded candidate, deterministic replay validates it, and an authorised reviewer approves or rejects it. Delivery is a standalone export or a draft pull request; merge and deploy remain entirely in your repository's process.

Who can approve repairs? Owners and admins (the repairs:approve permission). Viewers can read everything and approve nothing. The full matrix is on members and roles.

Can I use Seamward without connecting GitHub? Yes. Standalone export delivers the approved bundle (manifest, readable report, TypeScript patch) with no GitHub connection. Connect the GitHub App only if you want issue or draft pull-request delivery.

Operations

Which runtimes does the collector support? The published Node.js collector supports Node.js 22 or later with ESM TypeScript or JavaScript. Framework-neutral PHP and Laravel collectors are available from Packagist in alpha. The same CLI prompt installs the compatible collector internally and supports reviewed Laravel 12 and 13 HTTP and webhook instrumentation. Other backends deliver through the REST integration; Go, browser, and edge collectors are not shipped yet.

How quickly do findings appear? Analysis is enqueued in the same transaction that stores your observations and typically runs within seconds. Structural findings need at least two distinct payload shapes to compare; behavioral detection compares a 15-minute window against the prior day; missing-outcome incidents appear only after the rule's delay window elapses, with a sweep every minute so nothing waits on new traffic.

How do I get a workspace? Seamward is in early access: request access to receive an owner invitation by email. Once signed in with a verified address, open the workspace switcher and select Create workspace for a separate project or business. A Developer account includes three active workspaces; paid accounts include multiple workspaces under one plan. Existing workspaces invite members from Workspace settings → Members.
