Configure data ingestion

Create an application environment and ingest token.

Before you begin

  • Owner or admin access
  • A name for the application
  • A deployment environment such as development, staging, or production

Application environments

Use environments to separate observation sources.

An application environment owns the Source key and secret ingest token used by one deployed application environment. Multiple integrations can share that application environment.

Create an environment

Add the environment from Workspace settings.

  1. Open Workspace settings from the sidebar.
  2. Open the Data ingestion tab.
  3. Enter the Application name field, choose the Environment option, then click the Add environment button at the end of the form.

Save the token

Store the one-time secret in the backend environment.

Seamward displays the secret ingest token only when it is created. Copy it into the backend secret store, then click the I saved this token button below the code examples. The Source key remains visible because it identifies the environment and does not grant read access.
